I have only had this book for 4 months, and have been actually using it for two months and the book has completely ripped from its binding, taking a page with it. So awful, as I need this book for the next two years of my program. Mind you, the only place it has been is either in my backpack or on the table....

I need this book for a course requirement for my Au.D. program, and this textbook makes the course make a lot more sense than the notes from the instructor!My only complaint with the e-book/kindle format is that there are quite a few typos, or words that are joined together. This is just one of the typos that I have noticed in the kindle version of the book. I do not know if this is also in the physical book, or just file for the kindle version, but I would highly recommend that it be proofread. If it did not have these errors, I would have given the book a 5

If you are a HIS or dispensing audiologist who loves the "geeky" side to hearing aids this book will make your day. If not, you'll have to work through it slowly and perhaps learn more than you ever cared to know about physics.

I'm just an interested amateur, but this books covers lots of areas in some depth regarding the technology and fitting of hearing aids. It would be nice to see a little more mathematical/engineering approach, but this book seems to be aimed at audiologists, and is well suited for that use.

Excellent technical information. Great reference now and later as well as insight on how hearing aids and related technologies work.
